Since ages, wildlife sanctuaries have been the hub of picnic spots. Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary is one such getaway which is located in the Uttarakhand district of Karnataka. . A road trip to the sanctuary is breathtaking. Every year the sanctuary experiences many tourists flocking to the place to admire its beauty. It is home to a variety of species and endangered species and is covered with forests all around most of which are evergreen and deciduous.



Located on the River Kali in the Western Ghats, Dandeli is one of the best places for white water rafting in the South. There are grade 2 and 3 rapids over a 12 kilometer stretch and are ideal for professionals as well as amateurs.

Jungle Safari

Jungle Safari is a thrilling activity that lets you travel through the dense and lush Dandeli forest in an open jeep for about 14kms. You can observe the wildlife habitats and watch animals like Bison, Giant Squirrels, foxes, etc. There is separate place for bird watching where you can see lots of Indian birds and other diverse bird species.


Kayaking at Dandeli is the second most important adventure introduced for the adventure lovers. The Kayak is a single person boat to cross the river offered by the experienced persons in Dandeli. Many experienced and first timers visit this place especially for kayaking.

Zipline is another popular adventure activity at Dandeli. A pulley will be suspended on a cable that is mounted on an incline. It is designed to enable a user propelled by gravity to travel from the top to the bottom of the inclined cable by holding on to, or attaching to, the freely moving pulley.

Coracle Ride

Coracle Ride: Guests will be taken on a traditional round shaped boat called a coracle. The design of the boat is unique to the rivers of southern India! The coracle will drift slowly down the Kali River, hugging the shoreline.

Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking will certainly be a new experience for the vacationers. It would definitely be a great experience to ride the bicycle off-road using the specially modelled mountain bikes.


Syntheri Rocks is a 300 ft. Huge Monolithic granite structure which is located in the dense Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. The Kaneri River flows along the side of the Rocks. The corners of the Rock cave are Inhabited by numerous birds and honey bees.This place can be reached either by walking through the forest or by the jeep.This is a huge, tall wide and mesmerizing limestone Rock formed due to volcanic eruptions zillions of years ago. Which is named after lady ms.cinthera who discovered this place in 20th Century.

Sathodi Falls is a Beautiful waterfall in Yellapur that is formed by several unnamed streams near Kallaramarane Ghat.This water flows into the Kodasalli Dam into the Kali River.This Falls is located in U.K.Dist. Which is Apx. 90kms From Dadneli Town & 35 Km From Yellapur Town.

Ancient Kavala caves are a perfect destination for tourists to visit while their trip to Dandeli. This place is located around at a distance of 25 km from the Dandeli. Tourists will have to trek some thousands steps through a dense forest to reach Kavala caves. These caves are revered as the abode of Lord Shiva-the Hindu god of Destruction caves are a perfect destination for tourists to visit while their trip to Dandeli. Mundgod Tibetian Colony (Mini Tibet of India) is called Doeguling Tibetan Settlement. Dharamshala could be the little Lhasa in India but Mundgod is the mini Tibet in Exile, The Honorable Dalai Lama, the political and spiritual leader of the Tibetans.It showcases the life style and ambitions of the Tibetan refugees and reflects the gradual transformation of a traditional society into modernity. It has rightfully earned the name ‘Mini Tibet’.

Ulvi Shri Channabasaveshara temple is located deep inside Dandeli wild life sanctary. This is one of the most famous pilgrimage location in northern part of Karnataka

Supa Dam is located in Ganeshgudi. Which is 22 kms from Dandeli town.
It was built across the Kali River by KPCL (Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd). The power house at the foot has 2 generators of fifty megawatts each. The electricity generated is supplied to different parts of karnataka.

Dudhsagar Waterfalls is Located on Goa Karnataka Border.The Name Dhoodh Sagar is a translation of “Sea of Milk”.Springing from from a height of 600m is located on the Goa-Karnataka border. It is located at a distance of 60 km from Panaji and 10 km from Colem Railway Station.
From Dandeli you have to go to Castle-Rock, park your vehicle there and then catch a train to Dudhsagar Station followed by 1km trek to reach the Waterfalls.
Adventure lovers can even take a full trekking from castle rock station to Dudhsagar which is around 12kms trek with beautiful views all the way till the falls. In return you have only 1 tran at 5pm in the evening which takes you back to castle rock station.

Moulangi is a small river which joins the river Kali, So it is also called as Sangam(where two rivers meet). This spot has become one of the most popular picnic spots for people in and around Dandeli. You can enjoy beautifull view of nature.It is also the place where the rafting ends.
This spot is located around 8 kms from Dandeli.

One of the most famous tourist spots and a must-visit, Shiroli Peak is located within the Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. It is believed to be the highest point in the area. The peak offers excellent views of the Western Ghats.

Nagoda backwaters is the reservoir of the Supa Dam. You can enjoy the beautiful view of water, nature and sunset which adds to its beauty. This is on the way to Joida from Dandeli.
It is approx 15Kms from Dandeli town.
